IPTV Setup Ireland: Supported Devices and Apps

IPTV Ireland works on any device that can run an IPTV app: Firestick, Android TV, Samsung and LG Smart TVs, Apple TV, iPhone, Android phones, PCs, MAG boxes, Formuler and Enigma2. Pick your device below and follow the steps. Your login comes on WhatsApp, and we help you until it plays.

1. Your login

We send one of three login types on WhatsApp: Xtream Codes (server URL, username, password), an M3U link, or a portal URL for MAC-based boxes.

2. The right app

The app is the player. Use the one we suggest for your device below; every app shows the same channels and VOD.

3. A steady connection

25 Mbps or more for FHD, 35 Mbps or more for 4K. A network cable or 5GHz Wi-Fi gives the smoothest picture.

Firestick IPTV setup (Fire TV Stick, 4K, 4K Max, Fire TV Cube)

Apps: TiviMateIPTV Smarters ProXCIPTVIBO Player

  1. From the Fire TV home screen, search for and install Downloader from the Amazon Appstore.
  2. Go to Settings › My Fire TV › Developer Options › Install Unknown Apps and turn it on for Downloader. If Developer Options is missing, open My Fire TV › About and click your device name 7 times.
  3. Open Downloader and enter the app link we send you on WhatsApp to install TiviMate or IPTV Smarters Pro.
  4. Open the app, choose Xtream Codes login, and enter the server URL, username and password from WhatsApp.

Android TV, Google TV, Chromecast and Nvidia Shield

Apps: TiviMateIPTV Smarters ProXCIPTVIBO Player

  1. Open the Google Play Store on your TV or box and install TiviMate (or the app we suggest).
  2. If an app isn't on Play Store, install Downloader from Play Store and use the link we send, as on a Firestick.
  3. Open the app and add a playlist using Xtream Codes or the M3U link from WhatsApp.
  4. Wait for channels and the TV guide to load, usually under a minute.

Works on Android boxes, Chromecast with Google TV, Nvidia Shield, and TVs from Sony, Philips, TCL and others running Android TV or Google TV.

IPTV on Samsung Smart TV, LG TV and Hisense

Apps: IBO PlayerSmartOne IPTVSet IPTVSmart IPTV (LG)

  1. Open the app store on your TV: Samsung Apps (Tizen), the LG Content Store (webOS) or the VIDAA store on Hisense.
  2. Install IBO Player or SmartOne IPTV, then open it.
  3. The app shows a MAC address and device key on screen. Send us a photo of that screen on WhatsApp.
  4. We add your playlist to the app, then you restart it and the channels load.

These TV apps are made by other companies. Most give their own free trial, then ask a small one-off or yearly fee paid to the app maker, not to us. A Firestick avoids that fee. App availability on Hisense depends on the model.

Apple TV, iPhone and iPad

Apps: Smarters Player LiteGSE Smart IPTViPlayTVIBO Player

  1. Open the App Store and install Smarters Player Lite or GSE Smart IPTV (iPlayTV is a good paid option on Apple TV).
  2. Open the app and choose Login with Xtream Codes API.
  3. Enter the name, username, password and server URL we send on WhatsApp.
  4. Tap add user. Live TV, movies and series appear in separate sections.

Android phones and tablets

Apps: IPTV Smarters ProXCIPTVIBO Player

  1. Install the app we suggest from Google Play, or from the link we send if it isn't listed.
  2. Choose Xtream Codes login and enter your details from WhatsApp.
  3. Watch at home or away on mobile data or Wi-Fi. HD uses far less data than 4K.

TiviMate is made for TVs and boxes, so on a phone use IPTV Smarters Pro or XCIPTV instead.

Windows PC, Mac and laptops

  1. Install IPTV Smarters for Windows or macOS from its official site, or use VLC, which is free.
  2. In IPTV Smarters, choose Xtream Codes and enter your details.
  3. In VLC, open Media › Open Network Stream and paste the M3U link we send.

VLC is fine for a quick test; IPTV Smarters gives you the TV guide and VOD sections.

MAG box (MAG 322, 324, 520, 524 and others)

Login: Portal URL + MAC address

  1. Find the MAC address on the sticker under the box (it starts 00:1A:79) and send it to us on WhatsApp.
  2. We activate it and send you a portal URL.
  3. On the box go to Settings › System Settings › Servers › Portals.
  4. Enter a portal name (for example IPTV Ireland) and the portal URL, save, and restart the box.

Formuler Z11 Pro setup (and Z10, Z8) with MYTVOnline

Apps: MYTVOnline 2 / 3TiviMate

  1. Open MYTVOnline and note the MAC address it shows, then send it to us on WhatsApp.
  2. We activate it and send you a portal URL.
  3. In MYTVOnline choose Add Portal, enter a name and the portal URL, and connect.

Formuler runs Android, so you can also install TiviMate and use an Xtream Codes login instead.

Enigma2 IPTV setup (Vu+, Zgemma, Dreambox, OpenATV)

Login: Xtream Codes or M3U

  1. Make sure your receiver is connected to the internet and you know its IP address (shown in the network settings).
  2. Tell us your image (for example OpenATV) on WhatsApp. We send the setup details for your box.
  3. Most Enigma2 setups use an IPTV plugin with your Xtream Codes login, or add the channels as a bouquet. We walk you through it step by step.

Enigma2 setups vary by image and plugin, so this one is easiest done with us on WhatsApp.

Not sure which app? For most homes in Ireland we suggest a Firestick 4K with TiviMate or IPTV Smarters Pro: it's cheap, quick to set up and has no extra app fee.

Devices that don't run IPTV apps well

We'd rather tell you now than after you've paid.

Roku and PlayStation

There are no good IPTV apps for these. Plug a Firestick or Google TV stick into the same TV instead; it costs less than a month of most TV packages.

Older Smart TVs

Many Smart TVs from before about 2017 can't install newer apps. A streaming stick in the HDMI port gives you the same channels with a faster menu.

IPTV setup questions

What is the best device for IPTV in Ireland?

For most homes, a Firestick 4K or 4K Max with TiviMate or IPTV Smarters Pro. It's easy to set up, handles 4K, and needs no extra app fee.

What is the best IPTV app?

TiviMate on Firestick and Android TV, IBO Player on Samsung and LG TVs, and Smarters Player Lite or GSE on Apple devices. All of them show the same channels and VOD.

Can I use IPTV on a Samsung or LG Smart TV without a box?

Yes. Install IBO Player or SmartOne IPTV from the TV's app store, send us the MAC address it shows, and we add your playlist. These apps usually charge a small fee to their maker after their own trial.

What's the difference between M3U, Xtream Codes and a portal?

They are three ways of giving the app your login. Xtream Codes is a server URL plus username and password, M3U is a single link, and a portal URL is used by MAG and Formuler boxes with your MAC address.

How long does IPTV setup take?

Usually 5 to 10 minutes on a Firestick or Android TV. MAC-based apps and boxes take a few minutes longer because we activate the MAC address for you.

Can I watch on more than one device?

A 1 Device plan plays on one screen at a time. To watch on two screens at once, choose a 2 Devices plan on our pricing page.
