IPTV Ireland FAQ: Answers to Common Questions

Quick answers about IPTV Ireland: plans and prices, the free trial, channels and sport, setting up your device, the TV guide, and fixing buffering. Search below or pick a topic.

Getting started

What is IPTV Ireland and how does it work?

IPTV means TV over your broadband instead of a dish or cable box. You get a login, add it to an app on your Firestick, Smart TV or phone, and the live channels, TV guide and on-demand library load straight away.

How fast is activation after ordering?

Usually within minutes. Once your order is confirmed on WhatsApp, we send your M3U link or Xtream Codes login and help you add it to your app.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. We offer a 24-hour free trial on WhatsApp with the full channel list, no card needed. See the free trial page.

What do I need to get started?

A device that runs an IPTV app (Firestick, Smart TV, Android box, Apple TV or phone), a broadband connection of at least 10 Mbps for HD, and WhatsApp to receive your login.

Plans and payment

How much is IPTV Ireland?

From €14.99 for one month on one device, down to €5 a month on the 12-month plan (€59.99). Two-device plans start at €24.99. All prices are on the pricing page.

Is there a contract?

No. You pay once for the term you choose: 1, 3, 6 or 12 months. Nothing is taken from your card each month.

Can I use one subscription on more than one device?

You can install the app on as many devices as you like, but a 1 Device plan streams on one screen at a time. For two screens at once, choose a 2 Devices plan.

How do I renew?

Message us on WhatsApp before your plan ends and tell us which plan you want. We'll confirm the renewal with you.

What is your refund policy?

Message us first if anything isn't working; most problems are fixed in minutes. Full refund rules are on our refund policy page.

Channels and sport

How many channels do you have?

Over 30,000 live channels from Ireland, the UK, the US and other countries, plus more than 190,000 movies and series on demand. See the channel list.

Are RTÉ, Virgin Media and TG4 included?

Yes. RTÉ One, RTÉ2, RTÉ News, Virgin Media One, Two and Three, TG4 and Cúla4 are all in the list.

Can I watch GAA?

Yes. GAA+ coverage is in the channel list, along with RTÉ and TG4 for the games they show.

Are Sky Sports and TNT Sports included?

Yes. Sky Sports (Main Event, Premier League, F1, Golf and more), TNT Sports 1 to 4 and Ultimate, Premier Sports 1 and 2 and Eurosport are included on every plan.

Is 4K included on every plan?

Yes. Most channels come in 4K, FHD and HD versions on every plan, with no paid upgrade.

Setup, apps and TV guide

Which devices are supported?

Firestick, Android TV and Google TV, Samsung and LG Smart TVs, Apple TV, iPhone, Android phones, PC and Mac, MAG boxes, Formuler and Enigma2. Step-by-step guides are on the supported devices page.

Which app should I use?

TiviMate or IPTV Smarters Pro on Firestick and Android TV, IBO Player on Samsung and LG TVs, and Smarters Player Lite or GSE Smart IPTV on Apple devices.

Do Smart TV apps cost extra?

Some do. Apps like IBO Player and SmartOne IPTV are made by other companies and charge their own small fee after their trial, paid to the app maker, not to us. Apps on a Firestick, like IPTV Smarters Pro, are free.

How do I get the TV guide (EPG) working?

Log in with Xtream Codes in TiviMate, IPTV Smarters Pro or IBO Player and the guide loads with the channels. If it's empty, update the EPG in the app's settings or message us and we'll check it.

What's the difference between M3U, Xtream Codes and a portal?

They're three ways to give the app your login. Xtream Codes is a server URL plus username and password, M3U is a single link, and a portal URL is used by MAG and Formuler boxes with your MAC address.

Buffering and picture quality

Why does my IPTV buffer?

Usually it's the connection inside the home, not the service: weak Wi-Fi, a busy line at peak time, or a 4K channel on a slower connection.

How do I fix IPTV buffering?

Use a network cable or 5GHz Wi-Fi, restart your router and device, close other streams in the house, and pick the FHD or HD version of the channel at busy times. Clearing the app cache on a Firestick also helps.

What internet speed do I need?

About 10 Mbps for HD, 25 Mbps for Full HD and 35 Mbps for 4K, per TV watching at the same time.

Does IPTV work on Eir, Virgin Media, Vodafone and Sky broadband?

Yes, it works on any Irish broadband provider, including fibre, cable, 4G and 5G home broadband, as long as the speed is enough for the quality you choose.

Do I need a VPN?

No, a VPN isn't needed to use the service. If you already use one, it will usually work, though some VPN servers can slow the stream down.

Account and support

How do I contact support?

Message us on WhatsApp any time, 24/7. You can also use our contact page.

What should I send if something isn't working?

Your device and app name, the channel you were watching, and a photo of the screen. That lets us fix it fastest.

A channel isn't playing. What should I do?

Try another quality version of the same channel (FHD or HD), restart the app, and if it still won't play, send us the channel name on WhatsApp.
